Community Circle

Join us for our Community Circles series! Join us each week to make friends and connections, share our rich and diverse cultures and engage in conversations about the impact of racism on our lives. The Family Place team will share strategies for responding to discrimination and building an inclusive community. Dinner and dessert will be served at each session. Childminding is also available during program hours.

Empowering Single Moms

Connect with other single moms and share experiences to build a supportive community. Grow personally and professionally by accessing a range of classes, training, and resources that boost skills and confidence. Childminding is available during the program!

My Tween & Me

My Tween and Me is a facilitated parenting program uniquely designed for parents with children aged 7 to 12 to strengthen parent confidence and abilities to support their children’s transition to adolescence. The program promotes positive youth development, resiliency and strong family relationships.

When it happens:

[1st Group] January 14 – February 18, 2025

[2nd Group] February 25 – April 1, 2025

Nobody’s Perfect

Parent education and support program for parents and caregivers with children up to six years of age. This participant-centred, strength-based program focuses on:

  • Promoting positive parenting
  • Increase parents’ understanding of children’s health, safety and behaviour
  • Help parents build on the skills they have and learn new ones
  • Improve parents’ self esteem and coping skills
  • Increase self-help and mutual support
  • Connect participants to community services and resources

When it happens:

Food Skills for Families

Food Skills for Families is a hands-on skill building program. Participants (18 years or older) experience the rich social benefits of cooking and eating together while learning and sharing cooking skills, food knowledge and basic nutrition.
